I do not buy diamonds either. I work on the otherhand direct with ONE buyer in Europe. That is enough. We work very closely together and I as scrutinizing mandate.
These are the procedures. Safe for seller and buyer and no fancy and inventive ideas. Diamonds are a very strict business. Under all cases we require a complete manifest to start discussion on how to start the long term business.
THE SELLER OUGHT TO DELIVER HIS STONES CIF FREE TRADE ZONE AT ZURICH-AIRPORT.
Please be informed of our normal procedures:
- Seller provides a DRAFT MANIFEST for review by the buyer.
- Buyer responds to Draft Manifest either with his acceptance and/or comments.
- Seller provides Finals Signed Manifest on his letterhead.
- Seller provides information with regard to logistics, in particular ETA of parcel at the FREE TRADE ZONE at Zurich-Airport.
- Buyer receives Confirmation from Security House.
- Seller and Buyer agree on timing of first inspection of the parcel, with Seller being present.
- Buyer’s Gemologist makes an initial random inspection of the parcel and verification of the Manifest, and generates proper manifest if required.
- Within one or two days, Closing Inspection by the Buyer and his Head Gemologist. Assuming that the parcel is in compliance with Signed Manifest, Buyer will initiate payment at the conclusion of final inspection to the account designated by Seller.
- Title to parcel will transfer from Seller to Buyer ONLY AFTER the funds have been cleared Seller’s account.
